Every Child Matters

In honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day, all proceeds from this headband will be donated to Nogojiwanong Friendship Centre

Sept 30th 2021, was the first official Canadian statutory holiday called "Truth and Reconciliation Day" which is also known as "Orange Shirt Day". The use of an orange shirt is a symbol that was inspired by the accounts of Phyllis Jack Webstad, whose personal clothing—including a new orange shirt—was taken from her during her first day of residential schooling, and never returned. The orange shirt is thus used as a symbol of the forced assimilation of Indigenous children that the residential school system enforced. The colour represents sunshine, truth-telling, health, regeneration and power.

Since our focus is Headbands, I wanted to make a special edition headband made of orange material, and assist in raising awareness and donating to our indigenous communities. We thank you in advance for all the support and awareness being shared.
